This policy explains what happens to information when you use YourToolbox.in (referred to here as “YourToolbox,” “we,” “us,” or “the site”), operated by Nakshatra Technologies Pvt Ltd. We’ve tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate, because most people never read privacy policies written the other way.
The short version
The calculators themselves don’t collect your data. Whatever you type into a loan, tax, or savings calculator is processed by your own browser and never leaves your device. We do use standard website analytics and, once approved, Google-served advertising — both of which involve cookies from third parties, described below.
What we don’t collect
YourToolbox does not require an account, a login, or an email address to use any calculator. The financial figures, dates, and personal details you enter into a tool — your income, loan amount, savings target, and so on — are calculated using JavaScript running in your own browser. That data is never transmitted to our servers, stored in a database, or logged anywhere on our side. When you close the tab or refresh the page, it’s gone.
What we do collect
Like almost every website, we use analytics software to understand broad usage patterns — which pages are visited, how long people stay, what device and browser they’re using, and roughly which country they’re browsing from. This is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies and is not tied to your name or contact details unless you’ve separately emailed us.
If you write to us directly, we naturally have your email address and whatever you’ve told us in that message. We use it only to reply to you and don’t add it to a marketing list without asking first.
Advertising and cookies
YourToolbox displays advertising through Google AdSense (once our application is approved) to keep the site free. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can review and control how Google uses this data through Google’s own Ads Settings, and you can opt out of personalised advertising from participating vendors through the Digital Advertising Alliance’s tools, where available in your region. We don’t control what these third-party cookies record, and this policy only covers YourToolbox’s own practices — Google’s ad-related data handling is governed by its own privacy policy.
Cookies in general
Cookies used on this site fall into two rough categories: essential ones that help pages load correctly and remember basic preferences like your selected currency in a calculator, and third-party ones set by analytics or advertising services. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so may affect some site features but won’t stop the calculators from working, since they don’t depend on cookies to function.
Links to other sites
Some of our tool pages link out to official sources — RBI circulars, the Income Tax Department, government scheme pages — for readers who want to verify a rate or rule themselves. We’re not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external sites, and visiting them is subject to their own policies.
Children’s privacy
YourToolbox is a general-audience site aimed at adults managing their own finances and isn’t directed at children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Data security
Because calculator inputs are never sent to us, there’s nothing for us to secure on that front. For the limited data we do handle — site analytics and any email correspondence — we use reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep it protected, though no method of transmission or storage is ever completely risk-free.
Your rights
If you’re in India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you rights over personal data we hold about you. If you’re in the EU/EEA or UK, similar rights exist under GDPR. In both cases, since we hold almost no personal data beyond what you might send us by email, exercising these rights is usually as simple as writing to us and asking what we have, or asking us to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page as the site adds new features — for example, once advertising goes live, or if we introduce an optional feature that stores data. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the most recent revision, and material changes will be reflected here rather than announced separately.
